Ginrin Showa Koi 28cm Tosai – Hosokai (EK7141) | Japanese Koi UK
Meet EK7141, a striking 28cm Ginrin Showa from Hosokai Koi Farm in Japan. This attractive young koi combines vibrant red-orange colouring, contrasting white and bold black Sumi, enhanced by the sparkling appearance associated with Ginrin scales.
Showa are among Japan's most recognisable traditional koi varieties, celebrated for their dramatic combination of three colours: red (Hi), white (Shiroji) and black (Sumi).
What Makes This Koi Special?
EK7141 displays particularly striking black markings across the head and body, contrasting beautifully with its vivid red-orange pattern. Patches of white provide additional definition, creating an interesting three-colour appearance.
The Ginrin characteristic adds another dimension, with reflective scales that may become particularly noticeable as the koi moves through the water and catches the light.
At 28cm while still Tosai, this Hosokai Showa is an interesting young koi. Its pattern, body and Sumi may continue to develop as it matures.
