Autumn feeding guide - September Koi Feeding Guide and a brief summary of summer feeding 2016.
Temperatures are set to rise again this week however Elite Koi have already started the process of adjusting the ratio of Aqua Source's range of feeds, we are feeding our Koi in the main Pond.
Our routine during the summer of 2016 was made up of a 50 / 50 mix of Aqua Sources All Season with Garlic
and Hi Growth,
The Koi have done very well on this mix and we have witnessed some very good development in the growth of our Koi, in particular the Tosai we selected at the start of the season.
Aqua Source Hi Growth has been specially formulated to promote rapid growth and development, with excellent body shape. The perfect protein to fat ratio also ensures lower waste levels than other higher protein foods. This also minimises fatty deposit build up around the internal organs, resulting in a healthier Koi.
Aqua Source All Season with added Garlic is a highly nutritious and beneficial food designed to keep your Koi in excellent health. The premium quality white fish meal used ensures that all the essential amino acids are present, whilst the balance of lipids with the protein will promote rapid growth and development, without the risk of fatty deposits around the internal organs. The addition of clay and prebiotics help to cleanse the digestive tract and reduce waste levels.

The Koi's colours are excellent too, with some impressive thickening of the Sumi on our Showa's and Sanke. Our largest fish have also shown growth and their colours are vibrant. We are looking forward to measuring both our Kigoi and Gin Rin Benigoi. The 5 year old Kigoi was an impressive 73cm at the start of the season and the Benigoi measured a little over 65cm.

Our main pond is heated, therefore we will maintain a minimum temperature of 16c through the month of September, this enables us to change the mix ratio to 25% Hi Growth, formulated to promote Rapid Growth and Development
and 75% All Season with Garlic
