A Taste of What to Expect at Our Japanese Koi Auction

  • Sunday 29 August
  • Doors open 10am
  • Auction starts 12 noon
We’re just a few of days away from our first ever auction now so we’ve created this blog to give you more of an insight of what to expect on the day and some of the highlights to look out for!

Plenty to see and do

Opening at 10am, we’ll have an excellent selection of Koi available to purchase on a first come, first served basis – be sure to get there early if you’re looking for something special! If you see one you’d like to buy like simply pick up the card for it to reserve it.

Throughout the day we’ll make sure you are well looked after, with a range of free refreshments available from the award-winning Fields of Anlaby and with our whole shop open we’ll also have some excellent offers, not available anywhere else! As part of the day we’ll have a charity raffle with some great prizes and we’ll also be announcing the winner of our most recent competition, with one lucky August customer taking away either an Evolution Aqua Tempest or a Varipump 10,000!

Moving onto the auction itself

Our auction will start at 12 noon and we’re thrilled to announce that we have a special guest auctioneer for the day! Ricky Stoddart is Managing Director of Koi Wholesale and Co-Founder of Koi Talk magazine. As a leading voice in the world of Koi, Ricky has been passionate about them from an early age and has even worked on a number Koi farms in Japan, including Nishikigoi Niigata Direct (NND).

Ricky's passion and knowledge for the hobby is simply outstanding so if you have any Koi or pond related questions that you’d like his expert advice on be sure to track him down!

Look out for our next update later this week which will include details of all 22 Koi that we'll be auctioning!

Charity donation

To close the day we’ll be donating a percentage of all takings to Macmillan Cancer Research – a charity that is close to our hearts and I’m sure you’ll agree is a very worthy cause.
We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any questions please give us a call on 07561 804 263.
